Abide Wellness was born from a deeply personal journey that began when I was just six years old. During a hospital stay for a serious kidney infection, a woman named Jan Sims came to my room to perform reflexology. At that young age, I didn’t fully understand what she was doing—but my family and I were amazed to discover that the things she sensed through touch were later confirmed by medical imaging. That moment opened a door in my mind to the idea that the body speaks in ways beyond what machines and charts can always capture.
As I grew older, life brought me back to that memory many times. For years I battled a range of symptoms that weighed heavily on me, only to be told by doctors that my blood work and tests were “normal.” Despite their reassurances, I knew something wasn’t right. The frustration of being unheard and unseen in conventional settings eventually led me back to natural medicine—the place where I finally found real answers, healing, and validation.
My passion deepened even further when my Pappaw became sick with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and, later, cancer. Walking beside him during his illness inspired me to read, study, and learn more than ever before. That season ignited a hunger in me to understand the body, the roots of disease, and the ways we can support health in meaningful, restorative ways.
Through studying medicine and enduring these many hardships, I have found myself becoming more and more dependent on God. That faith is the foundation of Abide Wellness, and the name itself comes from John 15:5–7 (ESV): “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit… If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
These experiences inspired me to open Abide Wellness: a clinic built on the belief that every person deserves to be truly listened to. Here, my goal is to help people uncover the root cause of their symptoms, relieve pain quickly, and guide them toward lasting wellness.
Abide Wellness exists to give others what I longed for during my own struggles—compassion, insight, and a path toward healing that honors the whole person, not just the test results.
From the very beginning, faith has been the foundation of this journey. My mom, my grandmother, and my great-grandmother made sure that from the age of two, I was rooted in God’s Word through Bible Study Fellowship. Week after week, year after year, I grew up learning not only Scripture but also the truth that God’s character is good. That understanding shaped a deep desire in me to live out that goodness and to share it with others.
Abide Wellness was born out of that same longing—to serve God by serving people. We believe that God designed our bodies to heal, and when we come alongside one another mentally, spiritually, and physically, true wellness becomes possible. Our mission is to help people discover what brings them closer to wholeness, while always pointing back to the truth that God is good.
In today’s world, medicine and media often paint a distorted picture of who God is. Too often, He is left out of the conversation altogether, or misrepresented as distant, harsh, or irrelevant to health and healing. At Abide Wellness, we believe the opposite is true—God cares deeply for our whole being. His design for the body is good, His Word offers wisdom, and His presence brings hope that no prescription or program can replace.
We desire to stand against the misreputation of God by showing through both words and actions that He is compassionate, wise, and faithful. By integrating faith with practical care, we point people back to the truth that God is for them—that He desires restoration mentally, spiritually, and physically. Our prayer is that each person who walks through our doors experiences not only healing but also a renewed vision of who God truly is.
