About Abide Wellness

An older man and a younger woman embrace at a formal event.

The Origin of Abide Wellness

Abide Wellness was born from a personal journey that began when I was six years old. During a hospital stay for a serious kidney infection, a friend performed reflexology in my room. I was too young to understand it, but the experience stayed with me. My family later felt that some of her observations echoed information received through medical imaging, sparking my curiosity about the body, complementary wellness and the importance of feeling heard.

As I grew older, conventional testing did not always explain how I felt. While continuing to value appropriate medical care, I began exploring complementary wellness approaches. Those experiences shaped Abide’s educational, individualized and non-medical model.

My passion deepened when my Pappaw became ill with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and, later, cancer. Walking beside him inspired me to study the body more deeply and explore meaningful ways to support overall well-being.

Through study, professional experience and personal hardship, I also became increasingly dependent on God. Faith is the foundation of Abide Wellness, whose name comes from John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.”

I created Abide Wellness as a place where people can feel listened to, respected and supported. My role is to help clients clarify their wellness goals, understand available non-invasive options and make informed choices. Abide does not diagnose medical conditions, determine medical root causes, prescribe treatment or promise specific outcomes.

Abide exists to provide compassionate listening, thoughtful education and individualized support that honors the whole person—not simply a symptom, test result or number.

Restore the past. Renew the present. Strengthen the future.

People Behind the Passion

Faith has been woven into my story from the very beginning. From the age of two, my mom, grandmother and great-grandmother made sure I was grounded in God’s Word through Bible Study Fellowship. Week after week and year after year, I learned Scripture and, more importantly, came to understand the goodness of God’s character. That foundation shaped my desire to reflect His compassion by serving others.

Abide Wellness grew from that desire. We believe caring for the whole person (physically, emotionally and spiritually) is an act of faithful stewardship. Our mission is to provide a place where people feel heard, supported and encouraged as they pursue greater balance and well-being.

Faith is sometimes separated from conversations about health and wellness, but at Abide, it remains an important source of hope, wisdom and purpose. We value appropriate medical care while also recognizing the meaningful role that faith, supportive relationships and daily choices can play in a person’s wellness journey.

Through our words and actions, we hope to reflect a God who is compassionate, wise and faithful. Our prayer is that every person who walks through our doors feels genuinely cared for and leaves with renewed hope, practical support and a deeper understanding of God’s goodness.
